Smitten with Lotus Soap Shop
I think everyone should make more of an effort to show themselves some love (myself included!) So, every Sunday I’m featuring a special self care product or method to indulge in. I had seen Lotus Soap Shop on Instagram and was thrilled when owner Elizabeth Sawchak gifted me her rosewater facial spray and lavender hand & body scrub. I love facial sprays with natural ingredients-this one has rosewater, rose petal witch hazel and aloe vera juice. The scrub is great to use on your hands and feet in between manis and pedis. It’s also perfect as an all over body exfoliant and leaves skin feeling baby soft. Got to love that the ingredients are all ones that you can recognize-fine sea salt, coconut(MCT oil), lavender essential oil, jojoba oil, and vitamin E.
My intention this year is to take better care of my skin, so these products are perfect. One thing I can’t do is overpowering scents, but these products have lovely, light scents. All products are hand made in small batches with the intent to provide products that are truly natural and free of toxic chemicals, artificial fragrances, and complicated ingredients. Yesss! Why can’t all products be like this?!
There is a cool backstory behind the brand. “Senior year I took an entrepreneur.ship class and I remember creating a business plan for a fictitious fashion boutique. That plan — and my efforts in that particular class — earned me the Entrepreneurship Award at graduation, an award that went to ONE person out of HUNDREDS of students in my graduating class. I didn’t know anything about the award — I didn’t even know it existed, and certainly didn’t know ahead of time that I would be receiving it. I look back and wonder if at that moment it was the universe telling me that this was in fact what I was truly meant to do.”
This is completely aligned with my beliefs and what I teach my clients. If you are unfulfilled or stagnant in your current career, I am a huge believer in finding your purpose by being true to your authentic self. If you find yourself in this questioning place, try creating a mind map to help you begin to discover your calling.
Here’s to a day dedicated to self care and your passions.
