Smitten with Beautycounter
As a new mom, it’s important to find small ways to take care of myself and show myself some love. Skin care is something I’ve always wanted to focus on more, but never took the time. So, the time is now.
When I found out I was pregnant, I bought only baby products that were organic and chemical free. Then it dawned on me, I had been using products and eating food filled with chemicals my entire life that I didn’t think twice about. This inspired me to become more aware of the chemicals that I was putting in and on my body, too.
I was drawn to Beautycounter since they pride themselves on refusing to use over over 1,500 potentially harmful ingredients. Their stance is since the FDA won’t regulate, they will. How awesome is that? They have a Never List™ that is made up of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals that we never use as ingredients in our products. This includes the over 1,400 chemicals banned or restricted in personal care products by the European Union, plus additional chemicals screened by Beautycounter and found to be of concern. I’ll never understand how other countries have banned chemicals, but the US is like, Seems fine to us. Whaaaat?
Tara of The Mama H blog and Beautycounter rep sent me a few samples to try-Plumping jasmine facial oil and Countermatch recovery sleeping cream. As I get older I’ve noticed my skin has become less oily and more dry, so I need all the help I can get. These two products definitely made my skin look and feel hydrated immediately. I’m really loving the night cream’s lightweight feel and noticeable results. And it didn’t break my super sensitive skin out. Huge win. I’ll be making this one of my beauty care staples.
