Mondays are rough. You usually hit the ground running and don’t come up for air until maybe Saturday…or Sunday. If you can incorporate 15-30 min daily toward mindfulness to combat stress, that’s fantastic. If you just don’t have the time or haven’t made this habit a part of your routine, that’s okay! Start small-really small-with a mindful minute. Use this time to focus on your breath, your body and releasing any tension. If you immediately start thinking of your upcoming meeting or client call, redirect yourself back to your body and breath. Like anything, it will get easier the more you practice. You’re essentially training yourself to stay calm and centered amidst the chaos.
C’mon, I know you can spare a minute. Your well being is totally worth it.
Take a deep breath.
Breathing in through your nose,
Breathing out through your mouth.
Breathing in feeling the lungs expanding,
Breathing out feeling a sense of letting go.
Breathing in to feel the body getting fuller,
Breathing out to feel the body release any tension.
Breathing in feeling alive and awake,
Breathing out feeling muscles relaxing.
Breathing in that sense of fullness,
Breathing out that unnecessary tension.
