Wedding Tip: It’s all in the details
Are they worth the time, energy and money???
To pull off all the details you’ve pinned or dreamed up, allow yourself plenty of time. I fell behind in my wedding planning cause I obsessed way too much on certain details. This left me running around the last week like a crazy person. Exactly what I said I wouldn’t do. How cool would it be to chill the week of your wedding?? Ah, must be nice. Someone, let me know that feels! LOL. This is where having a timeline would be very, very helpful. So, if you’ve allowed yourself a week to choose flowers and then it’s time to move on to the candle holders and table numbers, it will stop you from obsessing over flowers for a month or putting it off.
I know it’s your day and you prob have a set vision of what you want, but let people help you. (AKA Don’t be a control freak) Delegate some duties. I can only say this cause I’m a total CF when it comes to party planning. I can’t tell you how many times my bridesmaids and family asked if they could help. I didn’t always take them up on it because I thought, “I know exactly what I want, I have to pick it out”. False. I could have sent them pics of what I wanted. For example, I wasted so much time looking for these damn tall stemmed candle holders I just had to have. I should have made it a bridesmaid operation to search for them and I guarantee they would have found them much sooner than I did.
Sure, details can be painstaking, oh so annoying and at times make you want to lose your shit. But when you pull them off, they are SO worth it. When planning any event, whether it be a wedding, cocktail party or baby shower, those little details are what make the gathering special and different from every other day. I spent exactly a year planning my wedding and I often wondered if all the time I spent pouring over the details was worth it. Would anyone notice or even care? The answer is YES. Guests definitely take notice and it puts a special magic in the air. So, go ahead and make those DIY centerpieces, get the cute printed cocktail napkins and definitely dip those champ glasses in gold glitter.
