Sounds so lovely, right?? MUCH easier said than done. I get it.
When you’re hustling everyday trying to accomplish your goals, whether it’s graduating college, building your own business or trying to make it in acting, this quote is EVERYTHING. Wanting something soooo badly you can taste it makes it far too easy to focus solely on the end goal, the result.
But what about the journey, the process, and the grit that happens day in and day out? Those late night brainstorming sessions, hours spent researching, planning, networking, designing, and visualizing? It’s been equal amounts invigorating and frustrating….and well, kind of fun when you think about it, hasn’t it?
Sooo, with this being said, what if we learn to relish in the process?? Yes, there are set backs and rejections, but take notice of the small victories and connections made along the way.
One thing to remember —It is in our human nature to want to keep growing and challenging ourselves. We don’t like to remain stagnant. Once we hit one goal, we’re off and running toward the next. What we have accomplished often times isn’t enough, as we wish to move to the next, further step.
And sadly, there is a chance we might not accomplish our dream.
I say, take the pressure off of yourself and…..Write because you love to write. Play music for the sheer sake of playing music. Work hard at your job because you want to grow and better yourself. I know that I tend to be more in my “flow” when writing if I’m doing it for the love of creating, rather than trying to get more Instagram followers.
Ahhhh, doesn’t that feel better?
It seems to me that we are consciously creating a better life for ourselves if we are in a state of joy, as we work our asses off toward those sweet, sacred goals.
