It’s all too easy to get disheartened by life’s everyday grind. It’s up to you to notice all the inspiration surrounding you and seek it out daily. I get it, wayyyy easier said than done. So, here’s a lil cheat sheet.
∇∇Be Mindful & Feel More Inspired..Sounds like a win-win to me.∇∇
∇ Every morning, as you lay in bed before you fully wake up or while you’re in the shower, think of 3 things you’re looking forward to that day. Maybe it’s an exciting job interview, skyping with an out of state friend or something simpler, like trying out a new recipe.
∇ Try to be present in the moment. Take in your surroundings- the sights, the smells, the sounds. Really listen to people when they are talking, don’t just half listen as you’re actually making a mental to-do list. This is what it means to be mindful-not thinking of the past or future, but being at peace in the present. Another huge tip-Pay attention and look up from your phone! (This is a hard one for me, too.)
∇ Look for the silver lining. I know there are days (or maybe weeks) that you’ve gotta look really long and hard. But it’s there.
∇ If it’s out of your control, release it and let it go. Stressing or holding on to negative emotions only hurts you in the end. Feeling powerless? You’re not. You’ve always got complete control over how you allow (people, life, work, boyfriend, haters, you fill in the blank) make you feel. Maybe immediately you may feel a sense of sadness or anger by their actions, but it’s your decision if you continue to feel that way or not.
∇ Trying something new, whether it be a new restaurant, a new hobby or traveling to a new place will invigorate you. Get outta that rut and go for it. For me, it’s the small things-just taking a different route home on my walk makes it more enjoyable.
∇As your stuck in traffic or as your head hits the pillow, think of 3 things you’re grateful for. Being appreciative definitely leads to a life of love and happiness.
∇ What are you passionate about? Dedicate time each week to wherever your passionate lies. For me, it’s this blog-writing fills me up. You will feel energized and more alive…oh yeah, and inspired.
